Prepare charcoal or gas grill.
Scrub potatoes under cold running water. Cut into 3/4-inch slices. Cover with salted cold water. Bring to a boil on high heat. Boil 6 minutes. Drain.
Brush potato slices with oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill slices for 3 minutes. Turn with tongs. Grill second side for 3 minutes, or until brown.
